I teach first grade at a low income Title I school in Kentwood, Michigan. Our school provides free and reduced price lunch and breakfast to the majority of our students. Many of my students cannot afford school supplies, so I provide them each year. This gets expensive.
My students are excited about learning; however, I lack the budget and resources required to provide rigorous hands-on learning experiences.
Please help me by donating to my classroom to provide learning materials for my students to use towards their academic development and success.
My Project
My students need a variety of supplies to ensure a successful learning year! We need pencils, erasers, paper, and more to provide us resources to learn as well as snacks for students from our low income families who may need something to eat to get their bodies and minds ready to learn! My students also need notecards to practice their sight words and magnetic letters to blend and build words to help them to become better readers and writers! My students need headphones and a CD player to implement technology into our classroom so that students can hear stories and learning activities read aloud to them fluently. These are just some of the essentials to allow our classroom to run smoothly and effectively for successful student learning!
