This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The beginning of the school year is an exciting time and an important time to build routines that will support learning throughout the year. I strive to provide my students the materials they'll need to be organized and independent both in and out of the classroom.

Second graders are the perfect balance of eagerness and ability to help our classroom run smoothly.

Having color coded folders, page tabs, and Post-its support students when organizing and accessing materials for different subjects and homework assignments. The easel pads are essential for making anchor charts that we create together and students refer to throughout the day. The jumbo glue sticks are used all week long for fluency practice and word study, not to mention this size lasts us a very long time and generates less waste than smaller glue sticks.

When my students have the necessary supplies they need, and plenty of them, we are able to set up routines and expectations that allow us to take on the demands of curriculum.
