Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Every month, my students participate in a classroom economy where they pay bills and manage their finances, helping them understand real-life responsibilities like rent, utilities, and taxes. They also have the opportunity to make purchases like chips and candy from our classroom store, which teaches them the difference between needs and wants. Through this hands-on experience, they learn how to budget, prioritize spending, and make informed financial decisions. This routine not only builds critical thinking, math, and money management skills but also gives students a deeper appreciation for the financial responsibilities adults face in everyday life.
