Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In Second Grade students participate in various activities that involve cutting, pasting, and writing in order to show their knowledge in all subject areas and make learning fun. Our first science unit will address geology and geography. In social studies students will learn about about how the past differed from the present and our families. In math we will review shapes, fractions, addition and subtraction. In writing we will write our personal narratives to share who we are and our experiences.

Students will make science art projects to show and describe landforms and how they erode, family portraits and illustrations of their stories.

In math we will create visual models of our word problems to help us understand what we are learning. Students will also write about what they learned in all subject areas. In order to do these activities we need basic supplies like pencils, markers, erasers, scissors, glue and staples. We use most of these items daily and they wear out so each year some of them need to be replaced. Your donation will help make sure that we have the classroom supplies that we need to create what we need.
