Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Given the new research on the Science of Reading and the NYCPS initiative to grow in reading, I am creating centers that will keep the students engaged and ready to learn. Education is an evolving field that grows with more research and these research based centers will help my students thrive! Developmentally, Kindergarteners should be utilizing play as a method of learning and creating and using these centers allows for them to learn to read without even realizing! This will help students learn to LOVE reading and enjoy the process of learning how to. My students can not wait to hear that it is center time and I would love to give them the opportunity to have creative and engaging centers that are research based and will help them continue to grow!
