My Students

Our school is located in Harlem and serves a predominantly African American, and Hispanic population. Although most of our students enter first grade reading far below grade level, they usually make great strides in reading progress with a whole school literacy focus.

I teach at a Title I School in NYC where 100% of our children receive free breakfast and lunch.

Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn. Many of them want to be the first in their families to go to college.

My Project

Covid-19 has taught all of us the importance of technology in the classroom. We are currently in a technological era and now information technology is a significant driving force for the human society in their journey towards development and progress.

Unfortunately the high cost of computers these days have prevented some schools from equipping every classroom with a computer to enhanced students computer skills.

A computer will be used to aid the learning process of students in the classroom. It will be used to improve reading and comprehension skills through educational programs like ‘ABCYA’ and Starfall’.
