Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

First graders need many supplies to be successful and to feel supported in their classroom community. The supplies that I am requesting will continue to support the individual needs of my classroom as well as continue to build and support our classroom community.

The supplies I am requesting will go directly to my students to support our classroom community.

We will be able to use the stools to support our learning during small group meetings with me. These times are critical for student learning and community building. While we are at school daily, students use their Chromebooks. The charging center will support students to make sure their Chromebooks are charged so they are able to quickly get to work and reduce the amount of interruptions and transitions my students will need to deal with. This is critical as many of my first graders struggle with transitions. I am also requesting a large timer. This timer is vital for students in my first grade classroom to be able to see how much time they have left. I have requested an Elephant and Piggie bookset to support the readers in my classroom. I have many struggling readers and they love Elephant and Piggie. The Elephant and Piggie books have really supported the learners in my classroom with their reading skills and with building our community as students love to read the books together and act out the stories together. I am also requesting a classroom window covering which will help to keep our community safe during emergency situations. Lastly, I am requesting paper and toner for my printer so that I can print supplies and materials for my students.
