Help me give my students a comfortable place to sit while reading and learning. Having a rug in my classroom will give students the opportunity to come together daily as a community.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I've been a teacher for many years. A few years ago, rugs were taken out of our school and I feel like each of our elementary classroom teachers was at a loss, myself included. Students love coming together on the rug to listen to a good book, work in partnerships, and have their own personal spot.
I usually meet with my students at least 4 - 5 times a day on the rug.
I teach my lessons while students are in rug spots so that all students have a closer view of the board. Lately, I've been using cushions, but they are a distraction.
Please help me bring this beautiful rug back into my classroom along with a little vacuum to help maintain it. Thank you!
