My Students

Our school is truly a diverse, multicultural community serving students from all around the world. I have never worked in a school where students are constantly learning about differences in one another's cultures/backgrounds through casual conversations and interactions throughout the day. This is something that makes our school profoundly special.

I will be co-teaching in an ICT (Integrated Co-Teaching) classroom this year.

This means that 30 percent of our students will have IEPs (Individualized Educational Plans). In an effort to keep our classroom as organized and user-friendly as possible my co-teacher and I would like to make some upgrades to help our beautifully diverse class.

My Project

Five and a half years ago, I requested a set of classroom Chromebooks to help pursue technology goals in the classroom. ALL of these Chromebooks have been lent to students who needed a learning device at home for remote learning. I am teaching a class of Hybrid Students, and some of the students are in need of a working device when they are not in the classroom. We also just need more working devices in the classroom (especially since students are not supposed to share). Because we are in the middle of a pandemic, computers are in high demand, but they are expensive! My first set of Chromebooks was so wonderful! They were easy to use, but less expensive. They helped my students to learn and grow by having access to NEW (and working) technology in the classroom. I am hoping to receive a new set to help my current students!
