My students need four Chromebooks to allow my students more access to educational technology.

My Students
Each morning, my students come to school bursting with curiosity and excitement about what we will learn today.
I teach in an inner city, Title One classified school where almost all of my students are eligible for free breakfast and lunch.
This year, my class of twenty-one bright and eager first graders would love to have more access to educational technology.
My students are on many different academic ability levels. I love to teach in a style of small group instruction that allows for individualized learning needs to be most effectively met. Technology is just one way to meet these extremely diverse needs.
My Project
With this set of Chromebooks, I could add more technology stations in my math and literacy small group block.
This project will allow all my students to access the technology resources we use everyday.
Richmond City Public Schools has several online resources we believe will help students in math and reading. iReady is one of those resources and with these Chromebooks every child could get their required forty-five minutes per week. The students could also play a wide variety of educational games online.
Another important reason we need these Chromebooks is to prepare students to take the SOLs online. First graders do not need to take these tests, but they need to be prepared and tech-savvy to be able to take them by the third grade.
I look forward to the impact that the Chromebooks will make on the individualized instruction and specific learning needs in my classroom.
