My students need an iPad with a case to be used as a voice output device because they are non-verbal. They also need dividers and materials for 1:1 center work.

A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
Currently my students are very busy and easily distracted by other individuals around them. By the end of the school year, with these materials I hope to move them towards more independent work. Also 4 of my students are non-verbal and would benefit from an I-pad to be used as a voice output device.
My students are 4-5 years old with a diagnosis of Autism.
They primarily come from low socioeconomic homes with minimal parent involvement if any. They currently have a variety of global delays and all learn very differently so planning and preparing to differentiate for all of the students can become very difficult, especially without the proper amount of materials. Currently all of my students need speech therapy, occupational therapy and physical therapy 2-3 times a week and we try to also teach those physical delays within the classroom to help them become more independent. We also try to teach skills that are functional and would benefit them long term as many of the students will eventually go into vocational settings.
My Project
The students in my classroom will use these materials such as the boarders to have clearly defined centers. They will also use those materials to help work on their group social skills, sight word identification, fine motor skills and also improving their language skills as well. My hope is to have the I-pad uploaded with a voice output program such as Proloquo, similar to a dynavox, to teach them to use it as their voice so they can learn to request their wants and needs and eventually to comment on socially appropriate situations.
My project will make a difference because all of the students not only within my classroom but within my school, which is primarily 4-5 year old students whom are non-verbal with physical limitations will improve their independent skills to help them better succeed in life.
