This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Help me create a calming corner for the classroom. Calming corners provide students with the emotional support they need to thrive at home as well as their classroom. We need a place in the classroom that can help students learn how to regulate their emotions. I want to create an area where students can go to help control their emotions when they encounter moments of stress and anxiety. For those moments that can hinder their ability to focus and engage in their class work the tools like the feeling puppets and sensory bottles will make a great difference with all students. A Little Spot of SEL Favorite Book set will be used so that my students can read about and understand emotions and ways to cope with them. The Space savor squares will help them with letters and sounds to minis anxiety when they feel they are behind with this concepts. The puppets and other items in my cart
