My students need 11 books to add to a classroom library. This library will allow students to have a variety of books such as "Maniac Magee" and "Surprise Island" that will engage them during their independent reading time.

My Students

Can you remember walking into a classroom with a variety of books that sparked your interest to want to read right then and there? This is the type of classroom environment that I want to provide for my students, and with your donation this vision can be a reality.

The students I work with are predominantly African American and Hispanic students that come from high poverty stricken areas.

My students that I work with come from single-parent households. I serve students at a Title I school in North Carolina. Even though these students come from unfortunate circumstances, these students still come to school every day with a positive attitude and are ready and want to learn.

My Project

The books that I am requesting will have a major impact on my students during school. These books will allow students to be exposed to a variety of books that will engage them during their independent reading time. Students will be able to use these books to increase their reading level to be up to grade level allowing them to be on pace with their peers across the country.

If you want to help a group of students, this would be the perfect opportunity for you.

Also I am a first year African American male teacher and I would be very grateful if you helped made this gift possible. This would allow me to improve my instruction and enable me to make sure all of me students have adequate resources.
