Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students have Autism. Our school is in an inner-city, low income neighborhood in North Miami, Florida. Our school has 99% of the students on free or reduced lunch. I have a classroom of 4th and 5th graders.

Teaching students with autism is challenging, but very rewarding.

They require modifications, accommodations and a lot of teacher assistance to reach their academic goals. What I love most about my students is that they love to come to school to learn. They are each uniquely different and special in many ways.

My Project

The construction paper and card stock paper will be used for classroom projects and flashcards. The binders, folders and pencil pouches will keep our things organized and neat. The laminating pouches and velcro dots will be used for making visuals for the students. The printer ink will be used for printing visuals and activities for the students. The raised line paper and scissors will be used for fine motor activities.

These basic classroom supplies will be very useful in our busy classroom.

They will be utilized in many activities and assignments. These items are greatly needed in our class. My hard working students will benefit from having these basic items.
