My Students

I am a reading teacher and interventionist in a wonderful school in Wisconsin. My students are exceptional, and I love going to school every day to see the sparkle in my students' eyes. I also get to connect with students of various ages during and after school. I truly have the most special job in the world and treasure every day with my students! My students love to read, pretend and imagine. They are curious and love to learn! We all participate in learning every day. They love so many fun activities throughout the year, and we hope to add even more. My students are amazing!

My Project

Imagine never being able to read, or struggling your entire school career while your friends read books all day. Or, imagine struggling your entire life to be able to read job applications, medical paperwork or even the news paper. This project is to help struggling students learn to read. Over the last couple of years, I have been working and training very hard in Orton Gillingham methodologies. I cannot even begin to explain what a huge difference this has made for my students.

It is wonderful to see kids who struggle with reading absolutely take off and soar!

Many of these kids never thought they would be able to read or struggled like crazy, and I want to help them learn! It is my passion! Every kid wants to be able to read, and I am asking for classroom basics to make that happen! I am asking for crayons, post-its, pencil grips, stickers, a stopwatch, highlighters and other goodies. We will use all of these items to do basic, everyday activities, like writing our letters, erasing cleanly, adding notes to books, breaking words into syllables in super fun ways, and writing colorful notes to each other! We can't wait to have fun learning to read! It is going to be so much fun to use these new goodies! Thank you so much for your support!
