Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are driven, hard-working, bright, humorous, intelligent, and kind. They attend a Title I public school meaning they are from a high poverty, low-income community in which the vast majority receive free or reduced lunch. I teach high school mathematics in an underfunded, marginalized urban school.

My Project

I am entering my first year of in-the-classroom teaching. I want to create an environment that is free of clutter and accessible to all of my students. I have selected items that I believe will help to achieve this! I am most excited about the microphone that will aid in communicating effectively with my students throughout the mask mandates caused by the covid-19 pandemic. The rolling carts will be highly beneficial in facilitating organization amongst a busy high school mathematics classroom. I also aim to add vinyl labels throughout my classroom for easy access and visual learning. The laminator will help to protect valuable learning materials for durability and years of usage. These items will remove the stresses of business and mess and ensure that we can focus on mastery of mathematics instead.
