My Project

As I am getting ready for a new school year and a new group of students, I would like to refresh supplies and expand my classroom library. This year, I will have students create math notebooks so they can work through problems and have a resource to look back on. For this notebook, they will need coloring supplies and gluesticks.

Read-alouds help immerse students in a story.

I like to read several novels in the school year and am building a classroom set of books. Restart is a great book in a modern setting that teaches students to be kind and forgive others. I know they would be more engaged if they had their own copy to read from.

Each year, our school participates in Battle of the Books. I would love to provide my students with a copy of each book from this year's list in our classroom library. We will use these for read-alouds and book reports, so having these books within close proximity would be helpful. I am also setting up a reading area and adding a comfy chair would add to the ambiance and entice students to read there.
