Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The Kindergarteners that I teach are bright and eager four and five year olds who crave to learn about the world around them. My students are constantly seeking answers to their questions and searching to make connections with those around them. My students are kind and compassionate. The students that I teach are truly remarkable. We are in a high needs area and while my students are eager we don't always have access to the resources that we need and that is where your help would be deeply appreciated. With help from DonorsChoose, we will be able to get access to resources that will take our learning to the next level.

My Project

All learners, especially our youngest learners thrive when they are taking action and learning through a hands-on experience! We have been studying the impact and importance of restaurants in our community. It is now time for us to create our own!

I have a class of 25 scholars who are always seeking answers to questions and thinking outside of the box.

My students are concerned about social justice and equity. They understand the importance of working together and of valuing the community. By running a restaurant, students will be able to learn in a hands-on way the importance of working together and the level of commitment and communication involved in making a restaurant successful. Students will run their own restaurant in our classroom.

The plates, cups, utensils, tablecloths, and paper table mats will allow us to effectively run our restaurant. Students will learn that running a restaurant is a complex undertaking and involves attention to both food and decor. The vacuum cleaner will allow us to keep our restaurant clean and tidy.

All donations to this project will help my class actualize their goal of running a class restaurant. Your donation to this project would be greatly appreciated by all of our scholars. Help make our dream come true.
