Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a teacher of 31 students, my classroom is quite busy. Students are often engaging In meaningful conversation with each other throughout the day.

The classroom is relatively small, however it houses 31 first grade students from different cultures.

My classroom is heterogeneous with 97% of my students classified as English Language Learners. My class is full of children who are eager to learn if given a chance.

My Project

Beside the every day supplies all students are expected to maintain in the classroom, there are other items which are necessary for an effective, healthy, and conducive classroom. The books will help students read, maintain fluency and stamina. The easel will be used to write mini-lesson and solve math problems The bins will be used to store our classroom supplies, such as, books, paper, and math manipulative's.

In low-income districts, school supplies are a luxury that many classrooms go without.

I teach in a low income neighborhood. 97% of my students are English Language Learners. My students deserve to have access to the school supplies needed to learn. They should be surrounded by good books, convenient supplies, and the materials necessary to conduct projects and experiments.
