My Students

My class is eager to learn and enjoy stories that are just not excerpts from a book.

A class set of chapter books will enable us to dig deeper into the text, see how a character changes over time, learn themes, and about how to deal with emotions and conflict.

My Project

The Tiger Rising by Kate Di Camillo is an engaging read for all students. My current class set has been “loved” hard, so it’s time for a new fresh class set of books. My students will learn valuable reading skills such as character development and change, bullying, friendship, family conflicts, and how to overcome challenges. Every student can relate to this book in some way or another, and The Tiger Rising will engage students beyond what they expect. I hope they will be inspired to read more from reading this excellent novel!
