Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember the first time you stepped into a library? The books were so organized and easy to access. My students are looking forward to experiencing the same excitement in our classroom library.

My students are first graders in a public school in the south Bronx.

We are located in a low income neighborhood, with the majority of the students well below the poverty level. The students are hard working and love being in school. They are beginning learners and are excited to be learning to read.

My Project

I am requesting some bins that will be used to organize the books in our classroom library. These bins will make the books more organized and easily accessible for the children. They will be able to borrow books and return them to the right pLaces so that it is easier for the next child to find.

When students are first learning to read, it is important to teach them library skills, such as borrowing and returning books.

With an organized classroom library, the students will learn how books can be grouped. They will learn how to borrow books and return them to the correct places so that it is easy for the next student to find. My students are so excited to have a neat and organized classroom library. Thank you for making their dreams come true.
