Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is a vibrant urban community filled with students who carry roots from all over the world.

Our students thrive despite challenges and adversities!

We want to provide this generation with much-needed resources so they can grow to be the leaders, learners, and creators that the future will need.

My Project

It is our mission to come back from this pandemic isolation with text options that are the most engaging, relevant, and timeless!

Our teaching team is excited to build a new curriculum centering on the verse novel Clap When You Land—an amazing story about loss, the need for community, and following your heart.

This beautiful verse novel examines the struggles of two young people tied together by blood though separated by different countries and cultural experiences. Elizabeth Acevedo's poetic novel finds hope in the midst of tragedy, and we can all use a little hope right now! Please help us secure some copies of the text so that students can have physical copies of the book as we return to in-person learning.
