Help me give my students, 6th graders, the chance to explore circles through bubbles and learn pi with yarn! Students will blow bubbles onto paper, measure the radius and diameter, then calculate area and circumference—making geometry fun, hands-on, and engaging.

My Project

Help my 6th graders discover the magic of circles!

My students are creative, hands-on learners who thrive when engaged in interactive activities.

They are curious, eager to explore, and love connecting math to real-world experiences. This project will give them a fun and meaningful way to understand geometry beyond just numbers on a page.

These materials will turn abstract math into something tangible and exciting. With bubble solution, construction paper, rulers, yarn, and paper plates, students will engage in two hands-on activities. First, they’ll blow bubbles, let them dry, and measure their radius and diameter to calculate area and circumference. Then, they’ll use yarn to measure the circumference of a plate and compare it to the diameter, helping them discover Pi in a way that makes sense.

My goal is for students to truly understand circles, Pi, and measurement—not just memorize formulas. This project will build their confidence, strengthen problem-solving skills, and make learning unforgettable.
