This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
My students are simply amazing! They are eager to learn and try new things. They are loving, energetic, intelligent little people who bring joy to my heart. I love seeing how their faces light up when they accomplish tasks on their own. They love to see how things work and are not afraid to ask questions as they explore.
Making sure my students have a clean, colorful and comfortable carpet to sit on as we learn and play is important to me as a teacher.
When I am in a comfortable and clean space, it helps me feel safe and helps me focus better. I want the same for my students. I want my students to experience a warm and welcoming feeling in our classroom and a new carpet will help achieve this feeling.
Circle time is important for students. During this time, students gain knowledge, learn to express themselves, build confidence and grow as individuals. I think it's only right to allow them to do that on a soft, warm, inviting new carpet.
