Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My class is a bright and creative group of 15 Kindergarteners. They are living the amazing adventure of becoming bilingual and biliterate and they will spend this whole school year learning 100% in Spanish.
They all come from different backgrounds but have one thing in common: they are all so excited to be learning in person again this year along with their friends.
My Project
After almost two years at home, we would like to give our students a complete experience in Kindergarten. Kindergarteners pay close attention to details and they love observing little things. They get very excited when we go outside with magnifying glasses to observe nature and animals. I can't wait to see their faces when they discover they can go even further with a microscope!
Soon we will be starting a project about different types of textures and materials and I would like to use the microscope to set up an observation and data taking center in the classroom so students can explore and experiment independently.
They will be collecting, touching, observing and experimenting with different fabrics and materials and working on writing projects to show their findings.
