Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our classroom computers are old and have a hard time keeping up with the newer operating systems. With the keyboards missing keys, faulty computer mice and computers that are well past their prime, my students would benefit from having new technology infused into their everyday education.

My students are 12 eleventh and twelfth grade students, who have been diagnosed with varying levels of Emotional Disturbances.

Judged often by their peers as well as their communities, my students can have a very negative outlook on school and completing in-depth research assignments. As my students have grown to being the older kids in the building, one of the key components of the coursework they have to complete in these grades is job readiness skills, such as the preparation of resumes and cover letters. With these computers, our Chromebook Corner will be complete for our students to gain skills to thrust them forward into the workforce!

My Project

Within our current technology based world, our classroom should be bursting at the seams with technology. Due to restraints on the school budget though, unfortunately it is not. With most of my students on the cusp of graduation, it is integral that technology is infused into their everyday instruction. Furthermore, with a dynamic blend of learning styles present within each classroom, this technology would allow my students to get individually tailored lessons that suit their dynamic learning style! My students would benefit from having this Chromebook, because they will have regular access to all the multimedia facts this technology can offer. Every bit will help revolutionize the way my students think. Together we can help them achieve the future their hard work deserves!
