My Project

Our classroom computers are old and have a hard time keeping up with the newer operating systems. With the keyboards missing keys, faulty computer mice, and computers that are well past their prime, my students would benefit from having new technology infused into their everyday education!

My students are 12 tenth-grade students who have been diagnosed with varying levels of emotional disturbances with accompanying learning disabilities.

Judged often by their peers as well as their communities, my students can have a very negative outlook on school and completing in-depth research assignments. Through time, with an individualized, step-by-step approach, my students are able to understand that the work they create has value and should be celebrated.

Unfortunately, my classroom lacks the technology to allow my students to be creative without getting on each others´ cases about not working fast enough. Together, we can help my students, who are for the first time making large academic strides, continue to grow, by providing them with technology that will encourage them to flourish while improving their ability to create multimedia presentations, access to Google Drive, and to work on diverse topics within the curriculum! While learning their Regents driven curriculum, they will also use this Chromebook to tackle Virtual Job Shadow and prepare themselves to enter adulthood by learning financial literacy skills!
