Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Most of my students come from low-income families and my school is a Title I school. Many of them receive free lunch based on their socioeconomic status.

Despite the many challenges they face (such as little food at home), my students are always so smiley, so kind, thoughtful and so generous.

They will save their snacks and surprise me by leaving snacks such as an apple, a banana or a pack of cranberries on my desk! Their words, "You need brain food!" made my heart melt! They are intelligent, fun loving, creative and very spontaneous.

I am looking to provide my students with hands-on fun, meaningful learning experiences. And I need your help to fund our projects!

My Project

We need four Chromebooks to go on educational websites and to research information. These Chromebooks will allow my students to share, collaborate and research for information, as well as to explore educational websites to expand their imagination.

Most of my students do not have a computer at home and do not know how to use a computer.

If this project gets funded, my students will have a chance to learn how to blog, how to surf the net safely for information, how to create a video using the Google apps.

Most of my students are also learning a second language and or a foreign language (Mandarin), and they can use the Chromebooks to access learning apps and educational sites such as Readingatoz.com, Brainpopjr, Google Drive/Google Classroom etc to learn, create, share and build knowledge with their peers.
