My classroom is an inspiring place to learn, both as a teacher and a student. I view myself as a "co-learner" and tackle the unknown alongside my students. Because we don't want to spend our time doing more of the same, I have to find unique ways to approach learning.
Many students enter my classroom unsure of their abilities and unaware of their potential.
One of my primary goals as an educator is to help them see what I see: that they have so much to offer. For this to happen, students must view school as a place of opportunity and possibility.
My Project
My students will use Chromebooks to write more, publish their writing, research genius hour projects, Skype with authors, and participate in learning stations. Because technology opens so many doors, the learning opportunities provided would be almost limitless. I want my classroom to be a place where ideas not only take shape, but take flight. By ensuring my students have the technology they need to create and explore, learning will deepen and ideas will spread.
Used well, technology breaks barriers.
Learning is infinitely more meaningful when it extends beyond the classroom and Chromebooks would help us connect to the outside world. I want my students to know their ideas matter and, with Chromebooks, I can encourage them to share their creations with a larger, authentic audience. The world needs their ideas--let's get them the technology they need to share!
