Help me give my students technology to use in all areas of learning! My goal is to have a Chromebook for every child in my class to use. Your kindness is appreciated.
My students are kind and eager to learn. They work so hard every day and are especially excited in anything that involves technology.
I have seen such amazing progress with even the most reluctant writers when they move from pencil and paper to the computer screen.
My school is a public school located in Malden, MA. We are a K-8 school, with 897 students currently enrolled. Students at this school come from a variety of economic backgrounds. About sixty-two percent come from low income families. Many children are first and second generation immigrants. The diversity in this school is magnificent, we speak many languages-French Creole, Chinese, Portuguese, Spanish, and English. We celebrate how fortunate we are to educate so many children from all over the world.
Located north of Boston, our district is extremely ethnically diverse; over 60 languages are spoken throughout the district. In addition, many of our students receive reduced or free lunch.
My Project
These Chromebooks will be used daily in all learning areas. Math fluency, throughout the process of writing, literacy centers, and science research. In today's world. technology is everywhere. Gone are the days of only using pencil paper in the classroom. Having this technology will allow my fourth grade students to learn to their greatest potential and have fun doing it.
Building a classroom library of technology has been such a positive learning experience for myself and for my students.
We have had this opportunity to experience the kindness of people who care deeply about education. Our conversations alone about this kind of philanthropy is a lesson in itself, and we have all been inspired to pass the kindness along-to pay it forward.
