Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work in a Title I school in West Harlem. My classroom is rich with diverse interests and personalities! My students are active. They love to work as a team playing soccer, swimming, basketball, and football. Many have strong leadership skills and want to help others as coaches when they grow up. Some of my students are truly artistic. They are aspiring actors, singers, and artists. Some dream of entering into science careers. They love learning about science through hands-on projects and books.

My Project

We need two Chromebooks which will give my students opportunities to be exposed to technology to position them for 20th century college and career readiness. My students do not have access to technology at home. It is essential for low income children to be exposed to technology because it offers many wonderful stories and books as well as math and literacy programs.

Classroom based technology will provide my students choices of learning mediums to increase their ownership over their academic experiences as well as over their growth in reading, math and technology skills
