Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Every day our students stand up and recite the Pledge of Allegiance and the school pledge. Our school is a Title I school in the Columbia Heights Neighborhood of Washington D.C. where 100% percent of students qualify for free lunch. Despite the many possible roadblocks, our students come to school every day eager to learn and ready challenge themselves to meet their potential.

As an interventionist, my team and I work to meet the needs of the 40% of our students who represent our ELL population as well as the 15% who receive Special Education Services.

My Project

These Chromebooks will allow our students to participate in a blended learning center cycle with the teachers in the enrichment room.

This will allow them daily access adaptive programs such as Lexia, Imagine Learning, and ST Math.

Adaptive programs allow for personalized instruction while the students are working independently on the computer. They also send up to the minute data reports that give teacher's insight into the needs that have not yet been addressed.

Our data over the past four years has shown a strong correlation between students who consistently completed their daily computer minutes and students who met their end of year growth goal.
