My Students

I teach in a 2nd grade, ICT classroom (Integrated Co-Teaching) which is an inclusion room with students with and without disabilities. My students love to learn and integrating hands-on technology will engage and prepare them for future real-life situations.

We are a high-needs, Title I school located in a low-income neighborhood.

I am a teacher in a high poverty/low-income school district. My students are faced with challenges in and out of the classroom. My goal is to create a caring classroom environment where students receive meaningful and applicable learning experiences every day.

My Project

My students need Chromebooks to work collaboratively on a variety of higher-order thinking projects. My students will be engaged in the use of technology as well.

These Chromebooks will also be a platform for differentiation to target students' individual goals.

These Chromebooks will support my students with disabilities by using specific academic sites during centers to target specific needs based on the individuals such as Lexia, Myon, and MathXL. The Chromebooks will also be able to help challenge students who are on or above grade level by focusing on higher-level standards and skills.

In a previous teaching experience at a different school, the students used Chromebooks and they were able to facilitate their own learning in the classroom, which built responsibility. The class used Google Classroom and Edmodo which I would love to incorporate into my current classroom. Individual and group assignments will help target specific needs and students will be able to work at the same time, promoting meaningful conversations and peer to peer support.

Chromebooks will also help students work collaboratively in group projects which will build digital literacy skills, responsibility, communication skills, and increase immediate teacher feedback which will help their academic and social-emotional growth. Some of my students do not have access to technology at home so this will be an amazing opportunity for all of the students to engage in group work to build connections and higher-order thinking.
