My Project

I am currently a middle school history teacher in an urban district.

Most of the students who attend my school are economically disadvantaged and need all the resources they can get at school.

They thrive, however, when they are given the opportunity to expand their learning.

The students learn best when they are fully engaged and what better way through the use of technology. Over half the student body are English Language Learners who benefit greatly from the use of online visuals to build vocabulary and background knowledge on current skills and topics.

Through the use of iPads, students will have the opportunity to practice and reinforce early literacy and math skills through interactive games and activities.

Students at my school will use these Chromebooks I am requesting on a daily basis. If they had access to this technology, it would allow them the opportunity to complete online components of both our reading and math programs. These devices would also allow them to complete projects and enhance their learning as well as prepare them for standardized computer-based assessments.

These Chromebooks will open up so many learning opportunities for the students!

Many do not have access to computers at home and would love to be able to work on a computer at school. It is so important for students to learn basic computer skills that will give them more opportunities in a fast-growing age of technology.
