My Students

My students are from a large, urban community that welcomes families from all over the globe. They bring a special blend of background knowledge, prior experiences and culture to our school.

My students are creative, clever and very enthusiastic about learning.

. They would benefit from a variety of classroom resources to help increase their success in our newly established distance remote learning platform. Since the school building is closed, due to the COVID-19 virus for the rest of the school year, some of my students are unable to complete their school work due to the lack of technology and supplies at home.

My Project

Remote learning is not easy! What makes it even harder is not being able to participate with your classmates because you either have a Chromebook that doesn't work or no technology at all. With more Chromebooks, my students will be able to participate in morning meetings, complete their assignments on Seesaw, have a video conference with me, or participate in a small math group. They will also be able to collaborate with one another and use their reading and communication skills to discover new information. They will also be able to listen to books, type final copies from stories they have written, and practice math skills. Having 14 more Chromebooks will allow my students to feel included and engaged during this difficult time.

This project will enhance what we already do in my classroom tremendously.

My students will be given the opportunity to use the technology of today and be able work on their 21st century learning skills. Since some of students don't have access to technology at home, this will give them a chance to keep up with their peers.
