My Students

My students come together from many different backgrounds and abilities to create a beautiful community we call home. On our campus, we have both self-contained Montessori classes and self-contained gifted classrooms, as well as our mainstream classrooms, so we are able to meet a large variety of learning styles and student needs.

I teach middle school and love to be there for them during this crucial time in their lives, when their minds are changing and they're starting to see how they might fit into the larger world.

I strive to encourage them to see their futures as attainable and important. I believe all of our students will make an impact on their community.

My Project

These Chromebooks will help my students become even more immersed in our online books and literacy practice. We currently have limited access to a computer cart with older computers. With these Chromebooks, we'll be able to consistently read online, practice with our Greek & Latin roots, and journal every day. Additionally, we can use the chromebooks as part of our history research. Early finishers can dive into passion projects and those who need more practice can use the Chromebooks to build up their reading skills in a fun and engaging way.

In addition to the reading and writing practice my students will get on a daily basis, these Chromebooks will open them to the ever-expanding world of technology that they are already a part of.

Many of them have computers at home, but they're using them for gaming and videos. These chromebooks will help them gain more confidence with internet research, Google Suite, and other websites. Being able to navigate and use technology is such a vital skill for students in this digital world today.
