My Students

To say these last two weeks of school have been a breeze would be the opposite of the truth.

Being able to provide an education to my students will always be my #1 priority, and it breaks my heart to say that I cannot do that for all of my students right now.

My students are 5th grade general education and special education students. They are doing their best to keep up with the lessons but some are working on iphones and tablets. In order to tend to this level of work, we need to get computers/laptops in their hands.

I am creating this project to try to obtain new Chromebooks for my 5th graders that do not have the means to buy one on their own. Our class is an integrated co-teaching class and we have some children in person and some learning at home. Students are struggling to balance the rigor of work and the technology they are using. Please consider helping me get the proper technology!

My Project

Technology allows students to take charge of their learning and collaborate with their peers in the most efficient way. Currently, my students are balancing trying to attend to the live stream of my co-teacher and I instructing, different collaborative websites to make the lessons engaging, AND their Google Classrooms! Imagine taking a school course, through an iPhone- that is the only technology option for some of my students.

My goal is to get Chromebooks in the hands of my students who need it most!

They are trying so hard to participate but going between multiple apps and trying to run programs at the same time as a live lesson is proving to be a huge challenge for my 5th graders. By getting them a laptop, they will be able to run the live session, easily switch back and forth between the tabs, and TYPE! It is so hard to see some of them try to type multiple paragraphs without a physical keyboard.

These children are proving to be amazing kids that miss being in school and WANT TO LEARN! Please consider helping them obtain the technology they need.
