This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"Those who don't know how to code soon will be in the same position as those who couldn't read or write 200 years ago" - Shereef Bishay I teach two computer coding classes each day but it's difficult because we have to share the same laptops between my coding classes & two other computer classes.

My students are very eager to learn computer science.

They are all very tech-savvy (or are at least on their way to becoming that way!) and absolutely love the coding classes. My school is a campus school that houses two schools in one building. As the librarian, I see all students from grades PreK - 8. I have two coding classes; one for grades 3-5 and one for grades 6-8.

My Project

My students will be able to use these Chromebooks in our coding classes without fear that another class will be using the Chromebooks at the same time as our class meets. It is difficult to hold a coding class when another class has already called "dibs" on the laptops or when the laptops are in a locked room and the keyholder is nowhere to be found. My students will be able to not only complete all of the their coding lessons but they will also be able to create their own games, apps, and animation.

The donation of Chromebooks will absolutely change my students' lives for the better.

Students will have consistent and reliable access to computers each and every day so that they can continue learning the basics (and beyond!) of computer coding.
