My Students

"If we teach today as we taught yesterday, we rob our children of tomorrow" - John Dewey Teachers are given training and access to many technology tools but the integration of these tools into the daily classroom routine is inconsistent at best. Chromebooks would allow us the chance to change this.

The Second graders that make up my classroom come from a small Missouri town.

The majority of my students come from low income families. No matter what background my students have, they have one thing in common, they love technology and thrive when given opportunities to use technology as a learning tool.

My Project

Right now Lakeshore Learning and Google are providing teachers with a discounted price of $99.00 per Chromebook. Chromebooks are perfect for our classroom because they require no maintenance and provide fast access to web-based learning activities. I'm hoping to get a set of 5 for our classroom so I can provide all students daily access to technology (a small group at a time). This set of chromebooks will allow every student in the classroom valuable technology time every day. These Chromebooks will provide my students with daily opportunities to access web-based learning. Not only will it help them improve in reading and math, but also with exploring the world around them as they learn to explore the globe through the internet.
