Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a first-grade teacher at a beautiful Title I school in the Washington Heights neighborhood in New York City. Ninety-six percent of our students are eligible for free lunch, but this does not dampen the spirits of these motivated students. Many of my students do not have access to technology in their homes. I have worked very hard to make our classroom a bright and happy environment, despite their struggles every day. My students are interested, curious, creative, and compassionate. They inspire me to be a better teacher every day.

I feel blessed to teach my students, and I believe that my students are the future leaders of this country.

My goal is to help my students improve their literacy and mathematical skills to succeed in elementary school. I have unique and super-intelligent students in my classroom who deserve the best resources and tools to enhance their learning. My classroom could hold the future leaders and heroes of the world, but to do this, I need to provide them with the most up-to-date resources and tools to bring out the very best in these bright students.

My Project

My students have been working very hard during this difficult school year and they deserve a Christmas present to keep them motivated this school year!

This holiday season, my students deserve to have a present for the holidays.

During this holiday season, I want my students to smile when they get a stocking full of small toys and Christmas goodies.

My students need a lot of encouragement every day. I do a lot of social-emotional learning prior to the start of lessons on a daily basis. These presents will uplift their hearts and bring a smile to them and their families. My students are amazing and smart and they are like family to me and deserve a present this Christmas. I will really appreciate your support in getting this project funded. I know you can help put a smile on a first grader this Christmas!
