Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

How would you feel if you were able to celebrate your favorite holiday twice a year? The beginning of the school year is always so exciting with everyone getting a fresh start! Restocking our classroom needs is always a priority before the first day of school.

Just imagine the looks on the students faces when they return in August seeing all the learning opportunities around them!

My students need headphones for STEM challenges, individualized learning support, and for conducting research. Headphones are the most frequent tool that needs replacement in our classroom and with class sizes increasing, more headphones are needed. Students also need frisbees which serve as mini-whiteboards. This is a student-favorite as students are able to demonstrate their learning throughout lessons and work collaboratively with others. We are the only classroom in our school that uses frisbees in this way so it is always a special treat for my students! Additionally, students need Kleenex to help keep our classroom clean and limit the spread of germs.

The chart paper is needed for when students create posters in teams to demonstrate their learning in all subject areas through presentations. Lastly, our classroom chairs sometimes create marks on the ground and let out a screeching noise when being moved. The chair floor protectors will allow my students to be comfortable moving around without causing damage to our classroom.

Receiving these supplies at the start of the school year would be like having Christmas in July and give us a merry and bright start to the new school year!
