My Project

The library is one of the most sought-after interest areas in the classroom. Children love stories, and they love to look at all the pictures in this adventure filled books. Having the right kind of bookshelf in a classroom is an integral part of catching students' attention.

These bookshelves will help show the cover of each book.

Rather than being covered on these shelves, each book will be shown, making it easier to identify which particular story a child wants to read. Regular shelves are what we have right now, making it more of a library setting for older students.

Our littlest learners are not yet confident enough to skim through books to see what they want to look at; they need to see the pictures on the covers. In addition to helping identify books easier, having covers of each book visible makes the classroom environment move inviting and studious. When seeing the cover of a book, children will be more motivated to grab a book and see what's inside.

Using chart paper to boost comprehension is a method teachers often use before, during and after a read-aloud. Pictures from the story can be printed and placed on the chart paper. These images can be useful in a vocabulary lesson and be used to encourage deeper conversations about a story.
