My Students

The majority of my students are poverty stricken with very little opportunity for life experiences outside of their own. They are the students that want to get ahead in life, want to make a better future for themselves but do not have the means outside of school. They are the students that although they do not have much, are grateful for what they do have and appreciative of what is given to them. They are the students, that if given the chance, will make the world a better place.

My Project

My students are are the ones that often come to school hungry and not always dressed appropriately for the cold winter weather. My project is multi-faceted. My students have just finished reading the novel, Wonder, and learning about (and hopefully developing) empathy. They all loved and enjoyed it very much.

Since many of my students are often cold during the winter, I found it fitting to ask for these "Choose Kind" sweatshirts to give to them.

It will help keep them warm, and, as the 6th grade role models on campus, will help spread an anti bullying message to the younger students.

Students that come to school without basic life's essentials, such as warm clothing, are often miserable with how cold they are and are more likely to get sick. A happy, healthy student is a student ready and willing to learn!

Donations to this project will enable me to give each of my students a brand new sweatshirt so they can stay warm during this winter season as well as continue with spreading a positive anti bullying message to themselves, their peers, and younger students.
