My Students

My kids come to school everyday with a variety of gifts, talents and difficulties. The class this year will accommodate students with learning disabilities, general education students as well as students that are academically gifted. As you can see the range is uniquely diverse!

Each student has a gift to uncover, open and develop this year in my class.

My job is to help them deepen, discover and develop a love of reading and learning. I'm so excited to help!

My Project

We have a student centered classroom where children learn best when they are comfortable and engaged, with your help my kids will be just that! With flexible seating options the classroom becomes a place where students communicate, problem solve, collaborate and think critically. This type of environment is difficult to achieve when students are sitting in rows at desks. The seating options in this project have many benefits! The KORE Wobble Chair increases blood flow to the brain, the Stability Wobble Cushion activates core abdominal and trunk muscles, the Peace Yoga Zafu Meditation pillow will give the kids a boost up from the floor relieving stress from their hips and ankles so they can sit comfortably while working. Having multiple seating choices in our classroom that include the Gaiam Balance chair that provides ergonomic support for a healthier back and the "Big Joe" dorm chairs that provide a comfortable place to get lost in a good book will help the students come together as a learning community and be able work collaboratively while staying engaged and focused. They will provide comfort and they also give the kids The seating options will be used to help all students by increasing motivation, letting students have ownership of their learning, and helping them love school. My kids will be able to choose a seat where they can stay focused but also move their body while working.
