Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am requesting a $100 gift card to Teachers Pay Teachers to purchase a wide variety of resources to learn about Chinese culture and Chinese New Year. This would be an exciting unit to explore paper plate masks, make lanterns, read comprehension stories about the year of the snake, read books about China, make a Chinese literacy flip book, and learn about Chinese traditions and culture.

Students would design beautiful Chinese lanterns, write about lunar New Year facts, and make colorful paper plate masks as an exciting social studies thematic project!

I am also requesting 10 Chinese New Year Fans to decorate my classroom. The fans are colorful and would be the perfect decoration to help display our masks, books, and writing about the Lunar New Year. To introduce our thematic unit, I will read the Flat Stanly chapter book, "The Flying Chinese Wonders."

I am also requesting a class set of pencil pouches for students to hold their crayons, pencils, and scissors. The headphones I requested are very study with cords that rarely tangle.
