Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Mr. O's office is where my 10th and 12th graders come to check in, relax, and learn skills to self-regulate their behavior. Being a teenager in Brooklyn is no easy task, my office is an oasis in an otherwise stressful world.

I see some students, daily, weekly, and some just on an as needed basis.

Regardless of why students come to me, I am there with a judgment free attitude, hopefully earning their trust as they risk 'opening up.'

Having materials, fidgets, books, journals, stuffies, stress balls--these are all tools that help students relax and open up. Funding for this project will allow for students to access some of these tools!
