This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

It's my goal to expose my students to many different types of stories that will help them grow into respectful individuals who respect themselves and others while learning the importance of diversity.

These books will be wonderful to help my students find their identity along with learning about themselves and others.

Many of these books are awarded under the Coretta Scott King Award, Asian/Pacific American Librarians Association Literature Award, American Indian Youth Literature Award and the Pura Belpre’ Literature Award.

These awards recognizes exceptional books that are written and illustrated by many different diverse groups that help and engage students in children's literature. These awards uphold the literature ideals by implementing tales that present a range of viewpoints and encourage empathy and understanding.

I'd like to have the tools I need to provide for all my students who learn in different ways through beautiful books.
