Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My kindergarten students will always be my primary agenda each year. Many of my students are from a very impoverished area in Miami, Florida; however, that does not mean that their interest in furthering their knowledge is no less important.

My students are from a very impoverish area in which school supplies are not their parents primary agenda, but survival is.

As far as teachers, their needs for their students school supplies are an epidemic crisis along with the COVID pandemic that has compacted their lives.

My students are eager to be back in school despite the troubles around them and the negative news impacting their live daily. My students are facing a time in life that they do not understand basically and yet they are handling the situation phenomenally......better than their parents.

My Project

I've requested Leveled Books Classroom Library 1 Complete Library and journals for my students because that's what they are in need of. I am both face to face and virtually online with my students.

During school time face to face, I can actually give my students books and a Journal to take home.

My students can't share their storybooks amongst their friends in class; however their friends can see which books they have chosen.

During my afternoon virtually online students time, I have to let them know to come to school and pick their Journal and books up. During our writing time many of my virtual online students would pick up anything to write on during journaling at home. I told them that I wanted them to keep their writing in one place so they could see the progress they've made throughout the year. I have given my virtual online students the auction of reading their little Readers online during our story time at the end of the day. To see their little faces as they await their time to read is priceless. I love the way their parents get them ready for their reading time and the parents enjoy it also.

Thus far for this reason I am requesting writing journals and books for my students because of their progression in writing and their love of reading.
