My Project

Before COVID we used to do service projects every quarter with all of our students. We did homeless care bags, blankets for foster kids, snowman soup for our troops, and care bags for our local children's hospital.

Community service is so important, because it helps our kids become more compassionate citizens.

This project focuses on activity bags for our local children's hospital. All of the pens, crayons, notebooks, puzzles, and activity items will help us create the bags. Our 6-8th grade gifted team students will create these bags with special notes for the children. The notes are to help brighten their day, without talking about being sick or ill. The activities will help the kids stay busy while in the hospital and it will help their families keep other kids busy while visiting. The last time we created these bags, the Ronald McDonald House got some of them and we got special notes from families who were so grateful for the activities. I would like to bring this experience to our kids this year. We have 200 kids in our gifted program this year and that would help reach a lot of kids in the hospital. Thank you for helping us make this a reality.
