Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

It started with one of our first read alouds: Stephanie's Ponytail. My students had no idea what they were in store for! By the time I finished, the students were rolling on the floor: the satire, the voice, the illustrations, and the word. They were hooked, not because of creatively I read the book, but because of how the book was written.

My students are obsessed with Robert Munsch books!

My third grade teacher first introduced his books to our class. Years later into my teaching career I had a flashback to this set of books that impacted my life. That's why I want to give my students that opportunity. Munsch's books can teach kids how to write with passion and creativity. They expose students to a variety of vocabulary words. Most importantly, they engage the reader and motivate them to read!

My students have been wanting to read these books, and I do have some, but I cannot afford the rest of the enormous collection. With your help, we can make we give them books they love to read!
